Since the first Rhineland-Palatinate regional garden show, which has been carried out with great success in Kaiserslautern in 2000, every year from April to October on the 22 hectare site of the Kaiserslautern garden show is a lot of Ios. Changing halls of flowers, various theme parks, exhibitions and an extensive cultural program make a trip to the park a pleasure. Discovery tour through the Pfälzerwald

www.pfaelzerwald.de

Welcome to the Pfälzerwald

From the Kaiserlautern the discovery journey goes in the direction of Johanniskreuz - in the middle of the Pfälzerwald. The first goal of the stage is the House of Sustainability. Sustainable living? What is a biosphere reserve? Questions to which the House of Sustainability answers. Here, entertaining and playful concrete suggestions for a sustainable lifestyle are given. Nature experience, wood architecture, sustainability information, the perfect mix for an exciting start of the trip.

The view from the Luitpoldturm

After this first acquaintance with the Lebensraum forest, it is time to take a look at the Biosphere Reserve Nature Park Pfälzerwald / Nordvosges. Not far from Johanniskreuz, the Luitpoldturm rises on the Hermersbergerhof - one of the few observation towers of the Pfälzerwald with a magnificent view over the region and the gently rolling hills. A little closer and on foot from our hotel is the Humbergturm. For further information please contact us at the reception.

Ritterromantik on the castle Gräfenstein

From the Luitpoldturm it can already be seen - the castle ruin of Gräfenstein near Merzalben. It is the landmark of the Gräfenstein region and the best preserved Stauferburg of the Palatinate. Unique in Germany is the seven-storey Burgfried. Once a year, a Medieval Spectaculum takes place here, but even without a juggler and a traveling people, the knightly period is brought back to life.

Rest on Maria Rosenberg

If it is already pushing home again, take a trip to Maria Rosenberg on the way back. The place of pilgrimage is located directly on Jakobspilgerweg, idyllically embedded in grain fields. It is worth seeing the 12th century chapel of the Rotenberg and the Lourdesgrotte.
